Biomaterials Laboratory was formed in January 2003 as one of the strategies by the school to enhance research in novel biomaterials and nanocomposites. It has grown in strength over the years and now recognised as Biomaterials & Visualisation 3D (BIOM3D). Under the direction of founding co-ordinator Prof. Dr. Ismail Ab Rahman, the laboratory is devoted to exploring the capability of translating materials processing into new dental novel products.
As part of the School of Dental Sciences, this laboratory is dedicated to training of the next generation scientist in the biomaterials & visualisation 3D fields. Interdisciplinary collaboration is the key factor in promoting discovery and accelerating translational research. Collaboration between scientist, dental specialist, physician and surgeons has led to significant discoveries.
