INPATIENT SERVICES

4 Timur Depan (4TD) ward 

•    Located at level 4 of Hospital USM main ward building
•    For Oral Maxillofacial and Dental case admission either for surgical or non-surgical treatment 
•    Occupied with one (1) set of dental chair
•    Occupied with a Sleep Science Laboratory (by appointments under Oral Maxillofacial Unit for Sleep Study cases

2 Selatan (2S) ward 

•    Located at level 2 of Hospital USM main ward building
•    For Paediatric Dental cases mainly managed by Paediatric Dentistry Unit
•    Combined with other paediatric cases of other medical specialties

Dental Radiology

All dental X-ray requests will be done at the X-ray Unit, School of Dental Sciences allocated at 3 area which are:

  • Level ground (G) School of Dental Sciences Main Building
  • Level three (3) Trauma Centre
  • Cabin Clinic

Dental Imaging/radiograph provided are:

  • Bitewing
  • Periapical
  • Upper/Lower Occlusal
  • Orthopantomogram (OPG)
  • Lateral Cephalic
  • Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) View
  • Cone Beam CT Scan (CBCT)

DENTAL OPERATION THEATER



Officiated by the Director of Hospital USM on the 1st January 2008 and began services on the 26th December 2007. Initially only cases under Local Anaesthesia (LA) done here but now cases under General Anaesthesia (GA) are also done here with the support of the Anaesthetic Department. This area includes registration counter, an operation theatre, recovery bay, personnel changing rooms, pantry and cleaning area.
