MAXILLOFACIAL UNIT

The Maxillofacial Unit is one of the core expertise areas within the Dental Technology Laboratory, specialising in the creation of various types of extraoral and intraoral prostheses. These prostheses are primarily designed to restore or replace missing structures in the facial region, improving function and esthetics for patients.

  • Obturator Denture

 

  • Hard Splint / Soft Splint

 

  • Sport Mouthguard

  • Orthognatic Wafer Surgery

 

 

Roles and Activities:

  • Supporting teaching and learning activities for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Dental students.

  • Participating in research and development (R&D) projects related to maxillofacial prosthetics.

  • Fabricating dental and facial prostheses for HPUSM patients, Executive Dental Clinic patients, and private dental clinic cases.
